During the presentation of the latest financial results, the Square Enix top management published a document illustrating the video games that the company intends to market during the current fiscal year, ie until March 2020.
As rightly pointed out by the colleagues of WCCFtech, in the document there does not seem to be any reference to the launch window of two blockbusters expected by all fans of role-playing games and action adventure, namely Final Fantasy 7 and The Avengers Project.
To underline the absence of Remake of the 1997 masterpiece and the new epic linked to the Marvel Avengers being developed by the digital forges of Crystal Dynamics (with the invaluable contribution of Eidos Montreal) by the giant's programs Japanese videogame for the coming months, there is also a graph showing Square Enix shareholders sales forecasts from 31 March or 2020.
In fact, the latter are lower than in 2019, a detail that has not gone unnoticed among the sector's employees and which confirms, albeit indirectly, the will of the Japanese publisher of to postpone its release or in any case to foresee a launch during the next year. Should they prove true, these indications would shift the marketing of the two titles to next fiscal year that is to say in the period between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021.
Even the recent rumors rebounded on the net they hypothesized that Final Fantasy 7 Remake would be released in 2020, strictly in episodic format. While waiting for a confirmation or denial from Square Enix, we present again the video of FFVII Remake which shows how it has evolved over the last 4 years.
